MDF Plus (deep milling)
Ideal for CNC milling and interiors
MDF is made from softwood fibres combined with wax and resin, pressed under heat into homogeneous boards. The fine fibre structure makes it easy to machine with clean cut edges. Plus grade is better suited for milling and painting than standard MDF.
For indoor use in dry environments only. Typical applications: furniture, interiors, cabinet doors and tops.

What is MDF Plus?
MDF Plus is an industrial wood fiberboard with a fine, homogeneous structure routed with high precision. The material has no knots or grain direction, giving predictable cut surfaces and a smooth face ideal for painting and interior parts. Density approx. 700–850 kg/m³.

Limitations
- Indoor use in dry environments only – not moisture or outdoors.
- Heavy in large formats compared to plywood, for example.

Working with MDF Plus
Lightly sand before painting. Acclimatise 2–3 days before machining. Pre-drill before screwing. Easy to mill, drill and paint. Heavy one-sided removal may cause warping.
Design tips
Follow these guidelines for the best CNC routing results:
- Minimum hole diameter is 3 mm.
- Use fillets on internal corners – sharp corners may cut poorly.
- Avoid very thin walls under approx. 3 mm – they may be fragile.
- Maximum part size is 2400 × 1200 mm (can be rotated).
